Punjab to get shooting training centres at Majha, Malwa and Doaba

Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, President Punjab Rifle Shooting Association, announced the Punjab government will establish three shooting training centres in each of the three regions of-Majha, Malwa and Doaba.


  • The centres will provide state of the art training to the budding talent of the state in the sport of shooting.
  • The state government has target to send maximum number of players to the Rio Olympics to be held in 2016.
  • An allocation of Rs. 6 Crores has been made to develop and modernize infrastructure at shooting ranges. Out of this, Rs. 165.47 lakhs has to be spent on shooting range at Mohali and Rs. 294. 03 lakhs has been earmarked for the shooting range at Village Badal. The facilities at PAP, Jalandhar and Village Talwara have got allocations worth Rs. 29.5 lakhs and Rs. 71 lakhs respectively.
  • All shooting facilities will be provided with electronic shooting targets.
